1 + 1 =

The Unit gave him a job promotion (not that this would give him any extra money, just extra duties), of SS. And someone in the Company figured out (I believe) that this meant that he would be home a lot less, and that he has this non-command sponsored wife here at home, who's only reason for being here is to support her husband... Leaving her here alone a lot less. Therefore they felt the need to give little old me something to do.
Family Readiness Leader. For over 100 soldiers and 21 dependants. Working with a non-exsistant NEO-rep.
Unfortunately, I am not equipped for the job and have been having seizures since been given the assignment.

Yes, I have epilepsy. Active. I'll not list the plethora of other medical problems right now, but I'm on 7 different medications for them, and they just keep adding more. But I digress.

My question is: Why FRG leader for a Unit that's being dissolved in just a few months anyway?
The only reason I can come up with is either to keep me busy so I won't complain that he's gone all the time (boy, are they mistaken), or they just plain old need someone to be in charge of all these dependants...
Not that they'll be able to evac all these people with their phone numbers changing every month like they do.

Don't get me wrong, I am proud of the job he does, but this isn't Ft. Bragg, and The Mission isn't the same. They're closing most of this Post, and it's all clean up from here. Well, that and field problems.
Not to mention that I've has wives introduce themselves as "Mrs. Captain so-in-so" and "Mrs Lt Col so-in-so". I nearly laughed in their faces. Instead, I shook their hands and replied, "Hello, nice to meet you. I'm Lorrette. I have no rank. " I'm certain they saw the look of amusement on my face though.

So I wait, as I scream inside my skull...
